A Former Prosecutor, Now a Defense Attorney
I am Douglas G. DeBoer. I have dedicated my legal career to the practice of criminal law.
In 1987, I graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. That same year, I began working as an Assistant State's Attorney, a prosecutor for the Office of the Will County State's Attorney. Over the next 13 years, I was promoted through all levels of the office and was appointed to serve as the First Assistant State's Attorney. I prosecuted simple traffic cases, DUI, domestic battery, felony drug, rape, burglary, armed robbery and death penalty murder cases.
My experience as a prosecutor is put to work for my clients every time I walk into court. I know how to view your case from the perspective of your adversary. I know the tactics your prosecutor will use and I know how your prosecutor will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses in your case. I know that the police often make mistakes and I know how to use those mistakes to your advantage.
