Misdemeanor Division Zoom Video Conference Court Instructions

The Misdemeanor Division of the Circuit Court of Will County announced that court hearings will be held via Zoom for the foreseeable future. On each court date, attorneys and their clients are expected to log in online for a video conference with the judge. Here’s what this means for you:

  • Either download the Zoom app for your phone or log in to Zoom on the date and time scheduled for your court appearance. The instructions are attached. I’m certain that all of my clients are capable of following these instructions or alternatively have a friend or family member who can assist. Let me know if you’re having trouble.
  • In all respects, pretend that we are in an actual courtroom. Wear appropriate clothing and appear in a posture that shows respect for the proceeding. Leave your microphone on mute unless you are asked to speak. In the majority of cases, I’ll do all of the talking.
  • While we’re waiting for our case to be heard on Zoom, you can text message me with any questions at 815-592-9145.

This has never been attempted before and will be a learning experience for all of us. Call, text or email with any concerns.
